Description
Misato (美郷) is a large peach variety that stands out in the early season when there are many small peaches. This variety was discovered in Yamagata Prefecture as an accidental seedling of ‘Hikawa Hakuhou’ and ‘Date Hakutou’ with limited production.
It has a dense flesh, sweet aroma with high sugar content and low acidity, which makes it a sweet peach. It has a crunchy texture compared to Hakuhou which retains its firmness even after ripening, suitable for consumers who like hard peaches.
